I have a confession. My desire to relax after work has seriously outweighed my desire to make things. Or clean, for that matter. You do not want to see our place…
Needless to say, I have been MIA due to a lack of crafty goodness to share. But I need to step my game up. I am participating in a Handmade Gift Exchange put on by Linda from Craftaholics Anonymous! I have a little under two weeks to create something fabulous and get it in the mail.
I am really looking forward to creating something for my partner, Sydnee. She’s given me some pretty broad guidelines to run with: apparently, she likes “the 1940s, 1950s, and science!” Love it. ;)
My mojo is slowly coming back… the crafty juices are flowing…
I shouldn’t really complain. The hubs does do his own laundry – his momma trained him well.
But I think he missed the memo on how to separate said laundry.
Here’s are my three categories:
Now, I know people get more specific and divide these into even smaller categories. But last I heard, there wasn’t a whitesdarkstowelsjacketswhateverelse category? For some reason, what bothers me most is that he insists on putting towels in with anything.
At first, my argument was that putting them all together would somehow wreck the softness of the towels. But after consulting with the mighty Google for some support, I found that it was the opposite! Towels are bulkier and heavier, and can therefore damage your clothes in the machine. Plus, they take longer to dry, so while in the process of trying to dry your towels you dry your clothes for much longer than is required. (Fascinating, right? Yes. Bear with me.)
I didn’t think I would be a nagger, but apparently this is one of my chosen beefs.
I am trying a different route, though. Hopefully he will see the humor in it and comply.
I know breakups are hard, but I think he handled it quite well, don’t you?

I heart Scrabble. Like mad. The hubs and I each have it on our iPhones, and it has come in quite handy when we are out and about and need something to pass the time. My favorite random place we have played was while waiting in line to see The Vatican. Let me tell you, that was one looong line and we were happy to have something to help us through it! I can’t remember who won, but let’s be honest. I usually win.
When I saw this post on One Life to Love I knew I had to share.
Check out how she made it here.
Word up! (yuk yuk yuk)
