I heart Scrabble. Like mad. The hubs and I each have it on our iPhones, and it has come in quite handy when we are out and about and need something to pass the time. My favorite random place we have played was while waiting in line to see The Vatican. Let me tell you, that was one looong line and we were happy to have something to help us through it! I can’t remember who won, but let’s be honest. I usually win.
When I saw this post on One Life to Love I knew I had to share.
Check out how she made it here.
Word up! (yuk yuk yuk)
The long weekend is here!
Long weekend… oh how I love thee.
The hubby and I came back to my parent’s house for the weekend. There is just something about being home that is comfy and full of warm fuzzies.
These thoughts sort of spurred the creation of this little printable. Since my Valentine’s Subway art is still up (shame, shame) I think I’ll put this one up in its place.
This image was formatted to fit a 5×7 frame. Feel free to take and print for yourself!

So it turns out I love playing around with Photoshop! I am starting to think I might be able to cross that one off my list…
I made one of these for Valentine’s, and I love how it looks on my mantel! (Yes, I said looks – I haven’t yet taken it down from Valentine’s day… shame, I know.)
It’s formatted to fit a 5×7 frame, but that doesn’t mean you couldn’t print it larger. Last time I ordered it through a local photofinishing place and just made sure I asked for “no colour corrections,” as I wanted to keep the colours as I saw them on the screen!
You can download the printable here!
Who doesn’t like a chalkboard – especially one in your very own house?? One of the selling features of our place (for me, at least!) was the chalkboard wall in the kitchen. It looked like fun and I saw endless possibilities, but have yet to make it really our “own.” Here’s what it looked like in the beginning:
a hand-drawn map of our new neighbourhood!
In December, I changed the map into a festive greeting:
I'm a great artist, no?
But as of now, it’s a clean slate! Now what to do with it….
- a calendar?
- a menu for the week?
- random art?
Leaning towards a shopping list/menu type idea. Lord knows I need help organizing meals! This might just be the trick… I’ll keep you posted :)
When I was a kid, mom used to take us to craft classes at Lewiscraft. Anyone remember those? It was a craft store – I think it was Canadian – but it closed (or was bought out) a while ago. Anyways, I have fond memories of those classes at the back of the Lewiscraft store. We painted ceramics and made other various crafts… but what sticks out most in my mind is the modge podge class! We got to pick out pretty paper and modge podge the heck out of these little flower pots. I was so proud of mine..
… and I haven’t done it since! I keep seeing modge podge creations out there that are fabulous looking and that I would love to try out! We have this one wall in our house that is pretty bare. And by pretty, I mean completely. Thinking that one of these pieces would look perfect in that space!
